Best Gaming Keyboard Under $50, Top 3 List

In this article we will be looking into the best gaming keyboards under $50. In this day and age you will be looking to get a great piece of gear without breaking the bank. It is entirely possible to achieve this and as you will see with my top 3 picks there really are some sick options available in today’s market.

I will not include keyboards that come with mice in this article but follow that link to a previous one I wrote all about those combos. With my top 3 choices I will provide a bit of insight to go along with them and then ultimately crown one specific winner. It is my goal to hopefully help you decide which one to chose to aid you in your gaming endeavors.

AULA’s Backlit Gaming Keyboard For Under $50top 3 best gaming keyboards under $50

Product: AULA LED Backlit Gaming Keyboard (3 Colorways)

Price: $27.99

Best Place to Buy:

The first board that comes to mind is AULA’s color change option. It does come in way under budget but I believe it is worth a mention. For the money you get a lot of value for this keyboard. Along with the 3 color change function you can also adjust the lighting from off, low, high and pulse. I have said before that it would be nice to turn the lighting off completely from time to time or even bump the brightness up and down as I please but I don’t see when using the pulse option outside of a rave would come in handy. 🙂

The AULA keyboard doesn’t come with fancy extra gaming buttons or a ton of additional multimedia keys but it is reasonably cheap. So if you are on a tighter budget this keyboard might be your go-to and it is pretty neat looking with overall design and backlighting.

Alienware TactX Gaming Keyboard For Under $50Best Gaming Keyboard Under $50

Product: Alienware TactX Gaming Keyboard (N16TH)

Price: $49.99

Best Place to Buy:

The Alienware TactX is probably one of the most hardcore looking gaming keyboards in this bunch. It is another backlit board with 2 separate zones. The top media buttons are one zone and the lower portion being the 2nd. You can change the colors and make them different from each other if you wish.

As far as functionality goes this gaming keyboard isn’t mechanical but still offers a ton of performance. It has six designated gaming keys that can be switched between three different modes. In essence you have 18 programmable keys to allocate your keybindings and macros towards. This will come in handy for sure when playing games where you start to run out of your normal keys.

Alienware also threw in a handy finishing touch where you can disable the Windows key during gaming. If you have ever been gaming and accidentally hit that button during a critical moment you can see why it would be a good idea to disable it. Attention to detail such as this is what allows the TactX to make my top 3 list so easily. Overall this keyboard does everything you need it to do and more for the $50 price range.

Logitech g105 Gaming Keyboard For Under $50budget gaming keyboard

Product: Logitech G105 920-003371 Gaming Keyboard

Price: $49.99

Best Place to Buy:

Last but not least is Logitech’s g105 gaming keyboard. I have written about this keyboard before and that is by no accident. You can see my main article for it here.

The g105 is a special keyboard but does fall short from the other two on this list in the sense that it only comes with the blue backlighting color option. If you are like me and don’t mind blue then this isn’t a problem for you. Do not let this be a hindrance however because this Logitech keyboard has some tricks up it’s sleeve as well.

Much like the Tactx listed above this g105 board comes with 6 programmable “G” buttons in 3 different modes. It basically frees up other buttons or simply allows you to keep on adding in more macro’s and abilities designated to those specific “G” keys. In games such as WOW, Heros of the Storm, Starcraft 2 and even Call of Duty you never know how many keys you will want to setup and that is why having those 6 extra buttons can really help.

I have to admit that of the 3 keyboards on this list the Logitech g105 is the cleanest looking. If you know anything of Logitech’s products then you know they have been a staple in the gaming community for years. If you decide to pick up this model I don’t see you being disappointed.

Time to Crown a Winner

Over the years I have seen lots of PC gaming gear and know that your keyboard is part of your weaponry along with your mouse. As gamers we only really have a few tools to aid us but out of this top 3 list what is the best gaming keyboard under $50?

In my humble opinion I will crown the Alienware TactX as the top dog gaming keyboard in it’s price range. It does everything the AULA and Logitech do combined and does it with class and style. I think you will be really happy with the TactX if you are in the market for a new keyboard. Of course the g105 would be a close second and if you are looking to shave some pennies off the price then certainly AULA’s keyboard would be a great option too.
