CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 Desktop Review

CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 (Black / Blue) Desktop Review, Does This Gaming PC Suck?

I know how it can be when your looking for a gaming PC and you are on a tight budget. Heck I’m always trying to find the best deals out there…because I’m cheap! Best bang for buck items. Whether this is your first gaming PC or just a new upgrade you are going to want to know if its worth purchasing.

Now normally I recommend building your own gaming PC for a few reasons. #1 It’s fun #2 You pick out each individual part so you know quality hardware was used #3 Likely more future proof #4 yes you can still do it for under $500 (comparing it to this CyberpowerPC) and #5 IT’S FUN!!!!

There are a lot more reasons but i’m not going to go into it that deep here and now. The point is doing your own build is my normal recommendation but if this is your very first gaming PC ever or you just don’t feel like going through the work then buying a pre made machine is still a good option. It can also be a good stepping stone into the world of PC creation.

The Good Schtuff, Awesome Sauce

CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 (Black / Blue) Desktop Review

OK. So my first thoughts are that I have always loved AMD Processors, especially for the lower end priced budget builds. I have never had a problem with one and can tell you the brand is a solid alternative to Intel. Everything else hardware wise is pretty good and standard for this price range.

I think 1TB of storage is a decent amount for you to store your stuff on and the 8GB or RAM is plenty. I know it could seem like 8GB might not be enough but it is for the foreseeable future. The thing is, if it DOES happen to not be enough that will be far down the road enough to where you can either upgrade it or maybe even at that point you just want a new PC. Who knows what the future holds.

On to the GPU now… the most important part of the machine for a gamer… the GeForce GT720 1GB isn’t too bad of a little card. I’d say you could get away with playing most games on medium settings with some of the more graphic intensive games played on toned down settings and the less intensive games played on higher settings. Your foes shall stand no chance!

I could go on and on about the good stuff but I will end it with this. I think the black Cooler Master case is actually pretty sweet and I love the blue LED’s and the side window. Another BIG plus is the fact that CyberpowerPC threw in a keyboard and mouse into the deal. This is saving you between $35 and $50.

The Not So Good, Lame Sauce

Alright well there is always a flip side of the coin with this budget gaming PC. The only real downside I am seeing is that it seems a few people have had issues with the power supply on this machine. Now just because they have had issues doesn’t mean you will but it means there is a possibility.

In my experience with computers, power supplies are one of the things that goes out from time to time. If you buy this CyberpowerPC I wouldn’t sweat it too much because if the power supply does dies on you it is pretty darn easy to replace one and really inexpensive. You could have a quality replacement for maybe $40 to $50 or under. You can check out what other people have said by clicking the link below.

Concluding Thoughts

Gaming PC Under $500

Thanks for reading my CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 (Black / Blue) Desktop Review all the way up to this point and I truly hope I was able to help you on your path to gaming greatness! All in all I think you are getting a pretty dang good deal for the price. There is a little hesitation with the power supply but honestly any computer could possibly have the same issues down the road. I would just keep it in mind if you do purchase this one.

So I have to know what you thought about this budget gaming PC? Are you looking to buy one? If you do you have to let me know! If you have any questions or comments please feel free to drop me one anytime at the bottom of this page. Likes, shares, tweets and +1’s are greatly appreciated as well!

Thank you,

This guy thinks you should replace the power supply right away. I tend to disagree and take the “if it aint broke dont fix it” approach. But heck it could save some time down the road. He does go on to say that he loved the computer and it was a good buy. I added this video in so you could see the machine up close and personal. He does a pretty good job. If you would rather build your own PC you can check out this $600 build I setup that performs better and costs less than the GUA880.

Thanks Anthony for your honest and helpful review of the Black/Blue CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA880 desktop. This looks to be a lower-end desktop, but I can see that the specs are actually pretty decent. Like you said, you’re really getting a lot of value when you consider the low price. I would assume that it’s cheaper to buy the PC bundle than to buy each of the components individually and assemble yourself?

      Hi Paul,

You are correct this PC is pretty spot on if you are looking to buy a PC off the shelf. Like usual I will try and point out that if you build your own PC you will get a lot more bang for your buck especially in the frames per second department. See my article here to build your own awesome gaming rig for under $500. Let me know if you have any questions about either machine!

      Thanks again,

My son is 16 years old and I think I heard him talking about how he would like a CyberPower PC for his gaming. His mother and I are planning to surprise him this Christmas. This review seems on point and for the price. Is there other models that you can recommend while keeping it under $1000 for our budget? Thanks for this information… its been quite enlightening and I will bookmark this page!

      Hello Mark,

I thank you kindly and if you are looking to spend closer to $1000 then you may want to look at the CybertronPC Hellfire-X Gaming Desktop and other comparables. It is right there in your price range but keep an eye out on my other reviews that will be coming out soon as well. Let me know if I can help in any other way shape or form.

      Thanks again!

    Hi Anthony,

What a great blog! It is really very professional (Not like some of the other computer blogs/websites). I love the fact that you review products that you own as well (The Samsung monitor). Also it is very good to tell the reader where they can buy the product, so well done!
