Sades SA 708 Gaming Headset Review, New Version
I don’t know what it is about this time of year (fall) but it always gets me in the mood for PC gaming. Perhaps one contributor to this feeling is the fact that many of my favorite games have been released during fall/early winter over the years.
Call of Duty always likes to release in November specifically, I know I know don’t hate on me for liking this franchise haha. Probably my favorite one was when Modern Warfare 2 released in November of 2009. And now we have Black Ops 3 which just released earlier this month.
MW2 was about the time I decided to try out a gaming headset instead of using the TV or surround sound speakers. I had heard that playing with a headset on could actually improve your game play and game experience. I found this to be true and will speak more on this later. You are here looking for a headset so I would like to help you decide whether this one is a good or bad buy.
Now on to my Sades SA 708 Gaming Headset Review
Product: SADES SA-708 Stereo Gaming Headphone Headset with Microphone (Blue)
Cheapest Place to Buy: Amazon.com
My Personal Ranking: 75/100
Coming in at the low end range for pricing I can see this headset appealing to a vast majority of people for that reason alone. Let me lay down some of the reasons why.
Sound and Mic Quality
Let me preface this by saying I am not here to sell you this headset but rather help you decide if it is the right one for you to buy. That being said the old adage “you get what you pay for” doesn’t seem to completely work in this instance.
For the money especially you are getting really good sound quality out the the stereo speakers. The mic has a fairly good quality sound to it on the other end so your friends and team mates can communicate with you.
The Sades SA 708 seems to really compare with even some mid range gaming headsets in this department.
Usability and Compatibility
This headset comes with the 3.5mm standard headphone plugins. There is one for sound and one for the microphone. You will see the headphone jacks on laptops, the back and sometimes front of PC’s. A lot of the satellite PC speakers that usually also have the volume controls will be outfitted with a single 3.5mm inlet as well.
You can use the headphones as the come but there are a couple of items you may wish to purchase alongside them to potentially make things easier.
- This one condenses the the two plugs down to one allowing you to use all of its features with a device that only accepts one plug in i.e. your smart phone or ipod. Startech Headset Adapter
- This one adapts into a USB plugin if it is your preference. Syba USB Adapter
Last thing of note on your headset cable is the mute button and volume control that is pretty standard of any modern gaming headset. It is a must have.
Will this headset help me perform better?
As I was saying at the beginning of this article, a gaming headset does improve performance. Now ideally you want a “surround sound” headset but we are talking a lot more money. A stereo headset like the Sades SA 708 is still good. I can give you a couple examples here.
The first and main reason is you have the sound of the game right in your ear and most other outside noises are drowned out. Leading to better concentration and awareness in game. Your overall performance will go up in comparison to playing with normal speakers and the TV going in the backroom. This way you can go on reddit’s r/blackops3 and brag to everyone about how awesome you are after a great game… just kidding – don’t do that. 🙂
The second and more First Person Shooter related performance contributor is that even with left and right stereo headsets you can actually head your enemy’s footsteps. If you know what direction they are coming from then you will have an advantage. This is really where surround sound headsets outshine all to be honest but hey… what are ya gonna do.
Hey thank you for reading this Sades SA 708 Gaming Headset Review! This really is a great headset for the money. You cant beat it at $17.99 and even has the potential to be one of the best headsets for under $50. I think it would make a great gift to someone who is just getting into PC gaming or for yourself if this applies to you. I know people who have picked them up for a spare because of how inexpensive it is only to realize they actually purchased a pretty decent headset and end up getting another to give away as a present.
A couple of items this would go great with would be the Redragon M601 Gaming Mouse and the AULA Backlit Gaming Keyboard. Both are also great bang for buck items so click those links to check out the reviews I wrote for them as well.
So tell me what you really thought about this headset? Would it work for you or someone you know? If you have any questions or comments please feel free to drop me one anytime at the bottom of this page. Likes, shares, tweets and +1’s are greatly appreciated as well.

I added this video in so you can see the headset up close and personal. It is not my video but he does a pretty good job.
